Interbase Alias Manager (IBam) is an Open Source program which centrally manages Interbase/Firebird connection strings through the use of Alias's.
Currently 4 Alias types exist, they are:
Standard - Visible to all.
Private - Visible to programs which know the name of the Alias.
Encrypted - Same as private but the Alias information is encrypted by
the calling application.
Remote - Standard Alias's served by a central server over TCP/IP.
Through the use of a few simple API's any 32 bit application which supports the use of external functions can use IBam. This includes Delphi, C, C++ and Visual Basic to name a few.
Localization IBam has now been localized into the following languages.
English
German
French
Brazillian (Portuguese)
A Help file is available which also contains a small FAQ section.
